Sermon / Church Message Outline Template

Deliver your message with clarity and heart

The challenge in preaching a sermon is less about the teaching itself and more about staying present — carrying scripture, illustration, and application through half an hour without getting lost in notes. A three-point structure is the format most listeners are used to, and the outline below builds scripture reading, an illustration, and an application beat into each point. Bring it up on the teleprompter during the livestream and pacing stays consistent without pulling your eyes down.

The script

Tips for this template

Write out scripture text in full — don't assume everyone can look it up in time
One illustration per point maximum — too many stories dilute the message
End each point with a specific, actionable application — not just 'think about it'
Pause after scripture readings to let the words land before you teach
